Another piece of my history bites the dust, quite literally

I found this video of the destruction of this building while innocently looking for the address. It was an apartment hotel, where I worked for a while during college at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in the 1970s. On the first floor was a flower shop, which also held the front desk for the hotel. I made deliveries for the flower shop in an enormous white station wagon, and checked guests into the hotel. It had one of those old-fashioned switchboards with cords and plugs, great for doing Ernestine (Lily Tomlin) imitations – take that, Mr. Vidal!
